Arts and Crafts
Go gallery hopping
From tiny studios where you can meet the artists to galleries showcasing the best in contemporary art and crafts, Cornwall’s art scene is thriving.
Visit Newlyn Art Gallery or The Exchange in Penzance for world-class exhibitions, seek out sculptures tucked away amongst sub-tropical plants at Tremenheere or pop in to artists’ co-operative The Guild of Ten in Truro for something quirky and unique.
Find out more about galleries and art exhibitions on the Cornwall Arts & Crafts Directory.
Meet artists and makers at Open Studios
Each May, over 250 artists, craftspeople and designers throw open the doors to their studios and invite the public in as part of Cornwall’s Open Studios programme. Running over nine days, it’s the ideal way to get a glimpse behind the scenes and pick up a unique piece of Cornish artwork to take home with you.
Explore St Ives
Follow in the footsteps of Barbara Hepworth, Ben Nicholson and Patrick Heron and beat a path to St Ives. There are galleries galore to explore, and you can easily while away a few hours in Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden.
