Staying with babies

A whole world of magic awaits!

When the big kids go back to school, Bosinver turns into an absolute wonderland for babies.  The perfect place for sensory exploration: first toes in the grass, first fur under the fingertips, first cock-a-doodle-doo ringing in the ears…and so much more.  We know just what an effort it is to get your very young family all packed up and away from home but we raised our own babies here and we know just what you need to ease on in!

A few things for you to know

Loads! You can request travel cots, stair gates, booster seats, high chairs and bed guards when you book online, and we also keep blackout blinds, strollers, baby carriers, baby baths, baby monitors, sterilisers, bottle warmers and potties to borrow. Just ask at reception, or let us know in advance if you’d like everything ready and waiting for your arrival.

Yes, every cottage comes with its own folding wooden cot and mattress, though we don’t provide cot bedding, so do bring your own. If you’d prefer a larger travel cot instead, we can supply one per cottage — just bring an extra if you need more than that.

All our pillows and duvets are hypoallergenic. A few cottages do have feather cushions, but just ask and we’ll happily remove them before you arrive.

Our cottages are detached and spread across 30 acres, much like a little village and none of the cottages overlook one another or the play areas so it’s pretty peaceful. If you’re hoping to keep a normal nap schedule going, blackout blinds are available to borrow too.

Yes, every cottage has a fully equipped kitchen that’s perfectly set up for preparing bottles, weaning food and baby meals. You can also request a steriliser.

You can — order groceries from our local village shop in Polgooth using our grocery order form, or arrange a supermarket delivery timed for after you’ve arrived. Just let the shop or delivery driver know which cottage you’re staying in and give them your mobile phone number..

St Austell, about three miles away, has pharmacies and GP services. St Austell Community Hospital on Porthpean Road also has a Minor Injuries Unit, open 8am–8pm daily with its own pharmacy, for anything urgent but non-emergency. For a genuine emergency, the nearest A&E is Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro, or of course call 999.

Your Cottage

Whether your sleep routine is established or there’s still a little room for improvement, our beautifully designed cottages are the ultimate home from home full of every luxury to recreate your home routines! Not to mention we’ve got all the gear you need to keep the tiniest babes safe and happy from bed rails and cots to high chairs and stair gates.  Check out the list of available baby equipment. Each cottage also has a toy box full of fun for kids of all ages.

Swimming Pool

Our indoor pool is heated to just the right temperature for your little ones to practice their splash in. We offer open swimming sessions for all guests as well as the opportunity for every cottage to book the pool for private use for an hour a day. Perfect if your very tiny ones are just gaining some confidence in the water.

Animal Feeding

Even the very tiniest ones love animal feeding with Farmer Dave, it’s colourful, noisy and oh so lively: the perfect wake up call! Whether you’re chasing the ducks around or digging those tiny fingers into woolly coats, there’s something wonderful for every babe to try!   Cameras at the ready, first animal encounters are magic!

Pony Rides

Rein led, hand-held and with you right by their side, is there any better introduction to life on horseback? We don’t think so. Riding sessions are on certain days of the week after all the animals have been fed! Paul and Lucy have done this a LOT and our ponies are the most gentle creatures. We can’t wait to help you enjoy your first pony rides together.

getting outdoors

Toes in the grass, our gorgeous sensory garden filled with flowers and pollinators and our acres upon acres of beautiful rolling countryside are a fantastic way to introduce your littlest ones to the great outdoors.  There’s so much to see, do, hear and smell here….we’d almost guarantee a good nights sleep!

indoor soft play

Sometimes those tiny ones, just learning how to explore their environments are all about those bright, colourful, squishy soft plays, we know this! Our lovely, clean, well equipped soft play is ideal for letting those tiny ones explore whilst you take a moment or two to sit and just watch.
