Double Gold for Bosinver at the 2014/2015 Cornwall Tourism Awards

The Bosinver team at Cornwall Tourism Awards with Phil Vickery.

We were thrilled to be awarded Gold in both the Self Catering Holiday of the Year and Sustainable Tourism categories at the 2014/2015 Cornwall Tourism Awards.

The judges made clear that were looking to encourage new entrants and would only consider previous award winners if they could demonstrate continuing investment in staff, services and marketing – which makes our win even more significant.

One of the reasons the judges gave for awarding us Gold against stiff opposition was the excellence of our communications with guests. They commented that: “Bosinver maintains the highest standards in everything. The customer service levels are excellent; the staff wanting to offer the best holiday possible for the guests.”

Sustainable tourism is something we’re passionate about, so we were delighted that our work in this area was recognised by the judges, who said: “Sustainability is very much at the heart of the business. Supporting the local area and community and inspiring guests (especially children) to encounter and be inspired by nature is the passion of the owners.”

We’ve worked really hard to make Bosinver the best it can possibly be, and we’re hugely proud of everything we’ve achieved. Over the last few years, the increased importance of the internet and the growing popularity of social media as had a huge effect on our business. We’ve completely embraced online communications and we’ve been growing our web presence and e-communications, investing in a new website in 2012 and working hard to develop our social media presence across Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Google+. For us, it’s all about the experience, which starts well before guests set foot in Cornwall, and extends after their holiday. Our online community is active and constantly growing, and we’re delighted that so many of our guests (and potential guests) join in.

What we love about social media in particular is that it’s so immediate and inclusive. It’s fantastic being able to post photos, share tips about where to go and what to do in Cornwall or what’s happening in Bosinver and get feedback and comments moments later from people across the globe. And it’s also great seeing photos and videos of our guests enjoying their holidays at Bosinver that they’ve shared online.
