Of course we think you could spend your whole holiday right here at Bosinver, whiling away long, lazy days exploring our 30 acres but there’s a whole lot of beautiful Cornwall out there to discover too! We’ve gathered together some of our all time favourite things to see and do in the near vicinity from family favourite attractions to beautiful beaches, fabulous walks and so so much more!
A few things for you to know
We do — we keep local walking, jogging and cycling maps in the office, along with OS maps and walking books, all free to borrow. Pop into reception for our favourite routes and days out.
Our own local favourite is Porthluney Cove, about a 20-minute drive away — a lovely south-facing family beach with rock pools, easy parking right behind the sand, and a seasonal cafe. Porthpean, Polkerris, Portholland and Pentewan are all firm favourites too, and just as easy to reach.
It really does vary from beach to beach. Porthluney Cove, Portholland, Par Sands and Gorran Haven welcome dogs all year round, while others like Porthpean, Polkerris and Pentewan have a seasonal dog ban over summer. Worth checking before you leave.
Yes — Bosinver puts you on the doorstep of the Cornish coast path, which winds for around 330 miles around the whole peninsula, so you’ll never run short of walking routes nearby.
Our website and guest digital Touchstay guide links to BBC forecasts for both the north and south Cornish coasts, plus tide tables for Falmouth and Newquay — handy, since the weather (and the sea) can be doing two completely different things on each coast at once.
We do —each cottage has it’s very own ‘Nanny Pat’s Days Out’ book with details of more than 50 days that she spent around Cornwall with her grandchildren. Our Explore pages are full of our favourite days out and nearby activities, plus a “What’s On in Cornwall” page to keep you in the loop on local events during your stay.
