Recommended Days Out
Helping you have the best family holiday in Cornwall
Pat (aka ‘Nanny Pat’) put together her first e-book to share with you her experiences of taking her grandchildren for grand days out in Cornwall – her principal aim was to share precious moments with them and have fun outdoors in line with Bosinver’s ethos of outdoor play.
From magical gardens to exploring off the beaten track…
The day’s out have invariably involved splashing in puddles, crunching through autumn leaves, digging innumerable sandcastles, examining rock pool creatures (being gentle and careful with them and returning them safely to their homes of course!) wandering around magical gardens, walking for miles, eating tonnes of ice cream and visiting child focussed attractions.
Based on our popular Nanny Pat’s days out in Cornwall blog posts, Volume 1 is full of ideas and suggestions for things to do and places to go with pre-schoolers in Cornwall. Many of the suggestions are off the beaten track, and are either things you can do for free or for very little money.

Plenty to do without driving
We’ve put together our top recommendations for things you can do without a car from Bosinver. Whether you choose to walk, cycle, take a bus, train or ferry (or any combination you like), there’s plenty you can do without driving.
All the information you need
For each of our suggestions, you’ll find full directions on how to get there, including things like which buses to get, and where they stop, and how to find out more.
It’s not all about the destination…
Some of the days out we suggest, the journey is an experience in itself. St Ives is one of our favourite day trip destinations, and the branch line between St Erth and St Ives is one of the most scenic routes in the country. Why not give it a try?
So much to do
So much to discover
Nanny Pat is the go to when it comes to fab family adventures to have right here in Cornwall. So much so that she’s written an e-book about just that! Hit the link on the left to download the book and start exploring.
