Delicious Cornish culinary creations and fantastic food

From farmers’ markets to fresh fish from the boat, celebrated restaurants to hidden foodie gems, the local area has something for every hungry adult and child. Whether you want to make the most of your fully equipped kitchen or avoid the washing up and eat out we can help. There’s even an added feel-good factor, as support for local producers and services keeps our community sustainable and thriving.

Cornwall is packed full of delicious delis, culinary creations, and fantastic food. During your visit there’s plenty for you to try!

Take a look at the Choose Cornish video and our list of some of our favourite local producers, farm shops and farmer’s markets, below.

Farm shops

Lobb’s Farm Shop at Heligan – a huge range of local produce can be found at Lobb’s Farm Shop. Take your picks from a selection of meats, cheeses, preserves, bread, fruits, and vegetables. There’s also a fantastic deli.

Cornish Food Box – an award-winning company run by sisters Tor Amran and Lucy Jones features the very best food from Cornish producers. The delicious delights include freshly baked bread, jams, cheeses, curry sauces, puddings, pies and more. Visit them in Truro or order online for delivery to Bosinver.

Farmers’ Markets

St Austell Local Produce Market – Fridays & Saturdays, 9.30am-3.30pm

Truro Farmers’ Market – Wednesdays & Saturdays, 9am-4pm

Grampound Produce Market – last Saturday of the month, 10am-1pm

Specialities

Cornish Pasty – you can’t come to Cornwall without trying an amazing Cornish Pasty! It’s a matter of Cornish Pride and personal taste, but we recommend Rowe’s bakery in St Austell, Pearn’s Pasties in Sticker’s Post Office, or a hand-made pasty from a local butcher.

Butchers – we highly recommend the multi-award winning Charlie’s Butchers in Tywardreath, as well as Kittows of Holmbush (located near St Austell).

Fresh Fish – Cornwall has a lot of coastline, so it’s no surprise that the seafood is excellent here! There’s nothing better than freshly caught fish, and Mevagissey is the closest place to go. Meet the fishermen and buy it straight from Mevagissey Wet Fish on the quay! Alternatively you can order online from Wing of St Mawes and have your selection delivered to Bosinver.

Ice Cream – a holiday isn’t a holiday without an ice cream or two! Try out Roskilly’s Ltd on the beautiful Lizard peninsular for tasty treat. Or try Callestick Farm’s amazing ice creams near Truro.

Made in Cornwall
with love

We love to support fellow Cornish businesses and fantastic Cornish producers, there are a lot of them to support! In fact, did you know that the Cornish pasty industry alone generates around £300 million of trade for Cornwall?  Yes, the humble pasty!
