Nanny Pat’s favourite time of year in Cornwall

Spring Azealia flowers

Bosinver guests often ask me when is the best time of year to visit Cornwall? In my opinion it is definitely Spring / early Summer – the end of April and May. Obviously Easter is a moveable feast and can get in the way if it’s late but these 5 weeks are my recommendation. Why?
1. It is term time and if you are grandparents or have babies and toddlers, it is quieter and cheaper!
2. The days are longer so you can pack more activities in.
3. On the whole the weather is better at this time of year.
4. There are no crowds, so no queuing at the attractions, also beaches and car parks aren’t full.

5. Mother Nature puts on a show for free. The hedgerows, cliffs and meadows come alive with wildflowers and burst into colour. It is staggeringly beautiful.
6. You can have some places all to yourself.
7. Accommodation is generally less expensive and you have more choice.
8. More beaches allow dogs than in the Summer.
9. Cornwall’s gardens are at their finest at this time of year, spectacular showings of magnolias, camellias, azaleas and rhododendrons which are world famous.

Of course here at Bosinver we have plenty of activities on site which make it pretty weather proof and easy to arrange entertainment for toddlers between naps. We also have a vast range of equipment so you don’t have the weigh the car down with everything but the kitchen sink……..

Hope you can join us at this wonderful time of year!!!thrift wild flowers on the coast
