The Helford area is one of the most beautiful and tranquil places in Cornwall. It is, quite simply, a paradise for walkers.
The Rosemullion Head circular is a moderate four mile route which starts at Mawnan Church and takes in the best this area has to offer. Although it’s short enough to complete in a couple of hours, it covers variety of terrain, including pretty woodland and fields as well as a stretch along the coast.
Water is never far away, whether that’s a teasing glimpse of the sea through the trees, panoramic views across the estuary or the sound of a stream nearby as you wander through the woods.
There are several small coves along the way which make ideal stopping points for picnics or to sit and watch the boats going to and from.
During the spring, this area is full of wildflowers, with masses of bluebells and wild garlic.
Mawnan Parish Church
The church dates back to 1231 and is dedicated to St Mawnan. Sitting just 100m from the coast path, it’s a peaceful haven that’s well worth a visit at the beginning or end of your walk.

There’s a network of paths in this area and plenty of options for different routes, so you may prefer just to take a map and explore!
