If you would like a festive getaway to experience the Cornish magic then we’d love to see you.

A stay at Bosinver is always magical, but sprinkle some of the pre-Christmas excitement into the mix and you will be guaranteed a wonderful time. There are so many festive events happening in Cornwall, it’s tricky to decide what to do. To make it a little easier for you, we have created a list of unmissable events for you to choose from to get you in the Christmas spirit.

If Christmas Markets are your thing, then you’re in for a treat! It’s the perfect opportunity to tick a few more gifts off the Christmas list.

  • Cornwall’s most vibrant Christmas Market “The Cornwall Christmas Fair” returns towards the end of November at The Eden Project. You only need to purchase tickets for the fair, admission to the Eden project is free. The iconic Eden biomes will be lit up purple as you shop around a beautiful array of Christmas gifts from independent stallholders and talented makers from around the county! You can always rely on a Christmas market to fill you with delicious artisan food and local produce, some food and drink is included in the ticket price too.
  • “The BIG Christmas Market” in Truro is arguably the best and biggest Christmas market in Cornwall, and run by award winning Truro Farmers Market. The BIG Christmas Market is a free event on Lemon Quay, stalls open every day and open for late night shopping from 29th November to 24th December on Wednesdays until 9pm!

  • The pretty fishing village of Mousehole is best known for its Christmas lights and draws thousands of visitors each year. The tiny winding streets are illuminated with a blaze of colour, while down at the harbour, the water reflects the lights beautifully. The displays are inspired by Cornwall’s maritime heritage, with sea serpents, fishing boats and whales to name just a few.  Mousehole isn’t the only place to get into the Christmas spirit – Cadgwith and Angarrack also have impressive displays each year and well worth a visit.

  • Take a Christmas plunge into the chilly December sea WITHOUT a wetsuit! Events are organised by local Cornish communities and non-profit organisations raising money for charities around Cornwall. Some of the best attended events include Coverack Harbour, Cadgwith, Porthtowan, Bude and Gylly Beach Falmouth. Lots of people get dressed up in Santa and elf costumes- but the less you wear the braver!

  • Jack and the Beanstalk at the Hall for Cornwall. Get ready for a giant pantomime fairy tale extravaganza laced with Cornish spirit and all the festive fun you’d expect from Jack and the Beanstalk! Starring Kernow King himself Edward Rowe, who plays the role of Dame Trott alongside a cast of homegrown heroes and West End wonders, Jack And the Beanstalk is perfect for children of all ages (grown-ups and grandparents, that means you as well!). Tickets start from £15 and can be booked here.

  • All aboard! It might not be the Polar Express, but Bodmin and Wenford Railway’s popular Santa by Steam trips are full of festive cheer. The experience includes a special a one hour return journey on a steam hauled train and an appearance by Saint Nick himself. Santa by Steam runs every weekend on the run up to Christmas and on 22nd and 23rd December. Book early to avoid disappointment!

And if this isn’t enough to tempt you to come to Bosinver for Christmas then you can stay for 10 nights (19th Dec- 29th Dec) for the price of 7 nights…. Call it our little treat!
