Autumn has undeniably kicked in this week with temperatures taking a tumble in Cornwall. Despite some wet and windy weather recently it looks like we will see plenty of autumn sunshine over half term – phew! Remember to pack your woolly hats though as it’ll be chilly!
Our annual Halloween activities will of course be taking place, if you are staying with us, you’ll already have the inside scoop on all the spooky happenings. On top of all that there are all sorts of fun-packed themed events going on around Cornwall to keep the kids (both big and little) occupied.
Here are our top recommendations:
1. Halloweden returns for another year at the Eden Project. Take on a special quest to protect the world’s forests. Become a forest guardian, watch enchanting performances, hear enchanting tales, and meet mystical characters. You can even join one of their wand making workshop experiences or take a spin on the ice skating rink for a small additional charge. To find out more visit www.edenproject.com/visit/whats-on/halloweden
2. Head to The Lost Gardens of Heligan for Halloween Adventures. Join them for a bug-tacular half term adventure where they’ll welcome spiders, snakes, and other creepy creatures for a really wild encounter! From 27th-29th discover their Carved Pumpkin Trail with giant pumpkins like you’ve never seen before. You won’t want to miss it.
3. Visit Boconnoc for an enchanting and magical walk-through nature in search of mythical fairy folk and dragons. The trail leads you through the beautiful gardens where surprises will spark wonder and delight. Get your fairy wings, dragon outfits and wands at the ready. Find out more on their website
4. Rogue Otherworld presents Dead of Night Dance this half term. Book tickets to watch an immersive theatre adventure to celebrate Halloween. The wickedly, joyful show is a treat for all ages in the dark heart of Tehidy Woods that will tickle your ribs, thrill your spirits, and chill your bones.
If you’re looking for more ideas for things to do as a family over half term, then we recommend taking a look at Best Days Out in Cornwall.
