Cornwall Gin Cruise on the River Fal

I was thrilled to grab a ticket for the very first Cornwall Gin Cruise as part of the Fal River Festival (they sold out in five minutes). This fantastic event was organised by Taor from Potluck Cornwall supper club, whose love of unique foodie venues inspired this trip, and the Juniper Club, an online gin superstore based in Cornwall. Delicious canapes were created by talented wild food forager and chef, Matt Vernon.

There were five Cornish gin cocktails on offer during the cruise. When we boarded we were given three tokens each to select our tipples for the evening. It must have been a challenge to serve over 200 cocktails in two hours from a tiny bar on a boat but the team managed it with aplomb!

My favourite was Westward Farm Rose Geranium Gin served with Fever Tree Indian Tonic, garnished with dried raspberries and a fragrant rose bud. Check out the rest of the cocktails on the Juniper Club website.

The atmosphere was relaxed and fun, and by the end of the evening I think I had talked to everyone! It was a lovely evening and we pottered up and down the creeks on the classic river boat Moyana with her friendly and knowledgeable crew from Enterprise Boats exploring the River Fal on the high spring tide. It reinforced my view that I am so lucky live in this most beautiful place. Can’t wait for the next one
