You’re not brave enough to take your kids abroad on your own as a single mum just yet so you’re on a mission to find the best UK staycations instead!
Just got back from the best staycation at Bosinver , a family run farm with gorge self catering cottages in Cornwall, a kids paradise! We stayed in the Lowen eco cottage, they have everything you need for kids so you don’t need to take your own things like toys, highchair, plates, cutlery, books etc.
We arrived late afternoon so quick snack then time to explore, first we met some baby chicks only a week old! They scooted everywhere & loved it on the tennis courts, this tired them out ready for bed. They provide a full size wooden cot, which I find is rare, usually you get a smaller travel cot but Leni slept amazingly in this one which meant I did too!
An 8am swim session/lesson with instructor Dawn, so handy if you’re a single parent & need an extra pair of hands in the pool, just pre book your lesson beforehand. Straight to animal feeding & egg collecting at with farmer Dave. Then pony rides, so proud Raine did this, she can be sensitive to new experiences but the team were so patient with her. The rest of the afternoon was spent in the playground, games room, zip wire & the 24 hour soft play, yep 24 hour!
My sister watched the girls so I could have a massage in the spa, it was one of the best I’ve had! The girls met me in their pyjamas in the soft play & then they ran wild in the fields with ducks & bunnies, climbed over gates & just had the best time, both slept amazingly the whole weekend.
The next morning we did the animal feeding again, egg collecting, more swimming, more playground fun, one last soft play session then home time with two very tired little ones!
They also have a forest school & nature trails, we could have easily spent longer here as there is so much to do. The girls are already asking me to take them back so I will try again before Summer is over if they have any space left!
