Nanny Pat’s days out: Trethorne Leisure Park

Group of pigs sleeping at Trethorne Leisure Park.

Trethorne Leisure Park is situated just off the A30 about 3 miles west of Launceston. I highly recommend this as a potential stopping off place if you have driven down early to avoid the traffic and find yourself in Cornwall at 10am!

They have a good café and lots of activities to entertain children who are climbing the walls after being penned in for hours in the car!

Trethorne has a variety of outdoor and indoor play equipment, so it’s ideal for a family day out, whatever the weather. After the ticket kiosk there are outdoor climbing frames, swings and a variety of small pedal cars and tractors to ride around on. There is also a petting barn where you can feed and stroke the animals under supervision.

The indoor play area is massive with a track for Didicar racing, a super sand pit with diggers and hoists and a pirate ship play barn for youngsters to run off excess energy. In the next section are trampolines (set into the ground for safety) and massive bumpy slides to whizz down on plus an exciting rope climb and clamber over soft equipment to slide down into a ball pit.

We happily spent four hours here and went home tired but happy…
