Rain doesn’t have to stop play!

We hate to break it to you, but it’s not always sunny in Cornwall! Just because the wet stuff takes over a day or two of your holiday, it doesn’t mean you can’t have fun, in fact, you might even have more fun.

Kids love splashing in puddles, and there’s plenty to be found at Bosinver after it rains. Take a stroll through the deep dark wood to find the Gruffalo, go on our Welly Boot Hunt or see if you can find all the hidden animals.

If you want to venture a little further, go out for a walk and explore somewhere like, Kennel Vale Nature Reserve, which is even more atmospheric when it’s raining!

Nanny Pat loves a day out on the train with her grandchildren. One of her favourite trips is from St Austell to Looe (changing at Liskeard for the scenic Looe Valley Line) that takes just over an hour. For most children, who aren’t used to travelling by train, the journey’s part of the adventure.

We recommend stopping by ‘Paint a Pot’ that can be found in the seaside town. You can easily spend a couple of hours making your own beautiful creations – a special souvenir of your holiday in Cornwall.

If they’re a little too outdoorsy for your on a rainy day, why not take shelter at Kidzworld. It’s ideal when little one’s(and bigger ones) need to burn off some excess energy. It has a huge soft play area which is toddler paradise, and there’s plenty on offer for older children too, with floor-level trampolines, slides, a roller skating rink and a soft ball cannon firing area!
