Summer fun in Cornwall with the National Trust

A hedge maze in Cornwall owned by the National Trust

We’re lucky enough to have several outstanding National Trust properties close by that are ideal for families.

Over the summer months, they’re putting on a range of activity sessions – including Wild Child nature and adventure sessions – everything from bat hunts to bug walks and den building sessions, family fun days and theatre performances of classics tales like Peter Pan and Wind in the Willows.

And what’s more, during August, kids go free. All you need to do is download a voucher from their website and fill it in to get free entry (2 children for free with each paying adult, not including theatre performances).

Download a summer activity wall planner to keep track of what’s on when over the next few weeks. Go on a treasure hunt at Godolphin, become a pirate for a day at St Michael’s Mount or try on the armour at Trerice. With huge, open gardens and woodland to explore, there’s plenty of space to run, play – and relax. Why not pack a picnic and make a day of it?

PS: There are National Trust properties all over the country, so if you’re not down in Cornwall this summer or you’re looking for something else to entertain the kids over the holidays, take a look to see what’s happening in your area.
