Hygge weekends at Bosinver

Get a little more hygge in your life with a long weekend at Bosinver this winter.

The concept of hygge (pronounced hue-gah) comes from Denmark. There’s no direct English translation, but it’s all about simple, everyday happiness, warmth and contentment. Think cosy gatherings, enjoying mulled wine by the fire, and spending time with people you love.Bosinver's cottages are all individually styled

To make the most of own hygge weekend, all it takes is a little preparation. Pack your favourite board games and DVDs, cosy socks for padding around in, luxurious loungewear and snuggly jumpers and get ready to relax.

If you’re looking for a cosy bolthole for your hygge weekend, you’ve come to the right place. Several of our cottages have wood burners (and a supply of logs) to add a warming glow on dark days.

Each of our 20 cottages is unique and individually styled with an eclectic mix of Boho chic, Scandi style and country farmhouse homeliness.

With super comfy mattresses, voluptuous duvets and beautiful bed linen from the White Company and Designers Guild, you might find yourself staying in bed just a little longer…

And it doesn’t stop there. To add the finishing touches to each cottage, we’ve sought out the best artists and craftspeople across the county, like lampshades from Tom Raffield and beautiful upcycled furniture by Lucy Turner.

And if you’re planning a getaway with a bigger group, Lowen and the Farmhouse each have their own private outdoor hot hub. Slip in to the water, lie back and look at the stars. Sheer bliss.

Time and space to unwind…

Start your break with a sauna and a dip in our beautifully warm indoor pool and let the everyday stresses and strains melt away.

Ready, set, bake!

There’s nothing like the smell of bread, cakes or biscuits wafting through the cottage. From gingerbread men to mouth-watering sponges or warming crumbles, get your apron on and get busy in the kitchen.

We’ve even got a special baking box you can borrow from reception. It’s packed full of everything you need to whip up some tempting treats, including cake tins, aprons and a fantastic, easy-to-follow recipe book.

And don’t worry, it’s not the Great British Bake Off, so it doesn’t have to be perfect. Baking at Bosinver is all about the making – and the eating!
